Overview
This page explains how to delete your BuildersHub account, what data is removed when you do, what may be retained for a limited period, and how to request deletion if you no longer have access to the app.
BuildersHub is operated by Metalbrain. When you request account deletion, we delete your account and associated data from our systems. A minimal deletion record is kept for 30 days for abuse prevention and support reconciliation, then permanently removed.
Delete your account in the app
If you have the BuildersHub app installed and can sign in, you can delete your account directly from the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed once confirmed.
- Open the BuildersHub app and sign in.
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Review what will be deleted, then confirm.
- Re-authenticate with Google or GitHub when prompted — this is required for security-sensitive actions.
- Confirm deletion. Your account and data will be permanently removed.
After deletion is confirmed, you will be signed out immediately. All local app data is also cleared from your device at that point.
Can’t access the app?
If you no longer have the BuildersHub app installed, or you cannot sign in to your account, you can request deletion by email.
Send a request to hello@metalbrain.net from the email address associated with your BuildersHub account. Include “Account deletion request” in the subject line. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity before processing the request.
We will process verified deletion requests and confirm when your account and data have been removed.
What we delete
When an account deletion request is processed, the following data is permanently removed:
- Account and sign-in credentials — your Firebase authentication record, including all linked sign-in providers (Google, GitHub).
- Profile information — your display name, bio, role, photo, headline, and all other profile fields.
- Security settings — account-level security preferences and configuration.
- Projects — all project submissions and associated data linked to your account.
- Subscription and purchase records — your entitlement record and associated purchase tokens.
- GitHub identity link — the connection between your BuildersHub account and your GitHub identity.
- GitHub app installations — any GitHub App installations linked to your account.
- GitHub repository records — repository metadata synced through your linked GitHub installations.
- GitHub sync jobs and webhook event records — background sync and integration event data associated with your installations.
- Audit log entries — product activity logs linked to your account.
- Waitlist entry — any waitlist record associated with your account email address.
- Survey responses — any BuildersHub survey submission associated with your account email address.
- Local app data — all locally cached account, profile, project, subscription, and session data on your device is cleared when deletion is confirmed in the app.
What we may keep
After deletion, we retain only a minimal deletion record. This record contains:
- a deletion job identifier;
- the request and completion timestamps;
- a hashed (non-reversible) account identifier; and
- a high-level deletion outcome status.
This record does not contain your name, email address, profile content, project descriptions, or any other personal data. It exists only for abuse prevention and support reconciliation.
If you hold a paid subscription and legal or platform requirements mandate retention of a minimal billing or purchase record, only the minimum required record will be kept, in accordance with applicable law. No profile, project, or identity data is retained for this purpose.
How long retained data is kept
The minimal deletion record described above is kept for 30 days after deletion completes, then permanently removed.
Any legally required billing or purchase record is retained only for the minimum period required under applicable law, after which it is also removed.
No other personal data linked to your BuildersHub account is retained after deletion.
